Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eyeshadow in Variations

I had the best thing happen to me the other day! I went to my favorite Chanel counter for an event, and they had a raffle, and I won! I won a big basket full of all sorts of goodies including nail polish, Ombre Paupieres Eye Shadow, Bronze Universel de Chanel, Aqualumiere lip gloss, and a big honkin' bottle of Chanel No. 5. Yay, me! Of course, many of these items are discontinued now, but I've done searches and they can still be found on big, bad ebay, so I'm going to tell you all about them anyway.

Today I'm going to tell you about the lovely quad I got in the shades Variations.

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eye Shadow in Variations

Variations is truly that...a very subtle grouping of four variations of terra cotta/bronze. There's a pale peachy champagne perle highlighter, a light topaz with a touch of peach, a bronze, (each with plenty of shimmer), and a deep brown-terra cotta matte. The colors work amazingly off each other, with subtle variations in light and dark, lending depth and luminosity to the eye with a natural, sophisticated grace. The colors are incredibly creamy and easy to blend, and require almost no work to apply. They last all day over eye shadow primer with no creasing or fading.

Above: brown terra-cotta matte, perle peachy champagne, peachy topaz shimmer, bronze shimmer.

As you can see in the above photo, these colors can be used in endless ways to achieve both natural or dramatic looks. I like to use the topaz on my lid with the bronze in my crease, the champagne on my brow bone and in the inner corner of my eye, and the deep brown as a liner. For a more dramatic effect, I've also used the bronze on the lid and the brown in the crease with a deep, deep brown liner smudged all around my eye. I've even used just the champagne all over my lid with a touch of bronze in the crease and lined my upper lids with black for a cat's eye. Regardless of how I've used these colors, they've always hit the mark for me.

If you can find this one, I highly recommend it. It's timeless, neutral/warm, and looks beautiful on brown eyes.
