Long Lash Review: Diorshow Iconic Mascara

Every woman wants long, lush, curly lashes, right? I mean, I've yet to hear anyone complain that they wish their lashes were shorter. Some are lucky enough to have such amazing lashes that they need no help...they're long, thick, black and curly all by themselves. For the rest of us mere mortals, the search for the perfect mascara is an ongoing one, and usually one fraught with failure. I don't know how many times I've taken home a little tube of somethin'-somethin' hoping to reach lash nirvana, only to try it out and wind up disappointed. We've all experienced the issues...clumping, flaking, smudging, mascaras that won't hold a curl or don't show up at all, and worst of all...the dreaded "spider eye" effect!!

So it was with a sense of desperation that I shelled out the cash for Diorshow Iconic recently. I usually refuse to drop much money on mascaras since I have to toss them after 3 months, but this time I was drawn into the hype...and for once, it was worth it!

Diorshow Iconic Mascara

Diorshow Iconic Mascara was recommended to me because of it's amazing curling properties. Enriched with a special lifting formula, Iconic boasts the ability to actually curl your lashes for you. Literally. I tried it on my uncurled, straight lashes, and they headed to the heavens! Amazing. Iconic also adds great definition and good length. Here are some before and after pics for you:

These are my lashes naked. Nothing terrible, just nothing extraordinary. The biggest problem I have with my lashes is that they're fairly straight, and once they're weighted down with mascara they tend to point either straight out or even down, so you can't see them. Iconic solved that problem for me. Here's a shot post-mascara:

Sorry for the bad lighting, but it started to rain and we had to move inside and I forgot to re-set the camera to flash. Regardless of the poor picture quality, what you can hopefully see is that my lashes are defined, lengthened, and most of all, curled! Yes! And they stay that way all day long, with no smudging or flaking. As a matter of fact, this mascara is budge-proof, and I have to use eye makeup remover to get it off at night.

Finally, here's a shot of me with my eyes fully made up, wearing Iconic over Lancome's Cils Booster XL Primer:

The best thing about Iconic is its versatility. It can be applied with one coat for a natural look or layered for more drama. It can also be used with other formulas to achieve virtually any look you want--I've paired it with Diorshow Extase for extra volume and my lashes looked false...I actually got 3 compliments in one day on my eyelashes, from complete strangers!

This one is definitely a keeper, and if you're in the market, I have to recommend it!
