Take it off, Baby!! Lancome Bifacil Eye Makeup Remover and Creme Radiance Clarifying Cleanser

With all the makeup I wear, one of my most important skin care items is a good cleanser. Actually, it's not that I wear a LOT of makeup, it's more that what I wear tends to be difficult to remove. I like to use waterproof bases under my eyeshadow and I use sunscreen every day, which is notoriously difficult to remove. After living with "raccoon eyes" for years due to my stubborn refusal to use a separate eye makeup remover, I finally bit the bullet a couple of years ago and went on a quest for a product that would remove even the most stubborn mascara with ease. At the same time, I began searching for a good, gentle foaming cleanser with which I could follow my oil cleanser each night. Well, as of two months ago, my search for these two items has officially ended.

Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover is truly a wonder product. It has a bi-phase delivery system, which sounds very technical but isn't. Basically all it means is that half of the solution is a lipid (oil) based fluid which wisks away even waterproof makeup, while the other half is a water phase that conditions and refreshes the area around the eye. Together, they form a powerhouse emulsion that can remove the most stubborn eye makeup with ease while leaving the skin around the eye feeling moisturized, cool and conditioned. All it takes is a cotton ball soaked in Bi-Facil and whatever I've applied disappears like magic! I love this stuff!

For the rest of my face, I always start with an oil-based cleanser. I rub it in and massage my face for a few moments, then add water to emulsify the formula and rinse it off. Most oil cleansers claim that they are all you need to thoroughly remove makeup and clean your skin, and they're probably right. However, I always like to follow the oil with either a lotion cleanser or something foaming. Just my preference.

That's where Lancome's Creme Radiance Cream-to-Foam Cleanser comes in. Infused with antioxidant White Lotus and soothing Rose de France, this creamy cleanser lathers up into a rich, thick foam as soon as it meets water. As a matter of fact, the foam is so rich and creamy, it literally feels cushiony on the skin. It's very soothing and gentle, and doesn't leave my skin feeling tight and dry, yet I feel it cleanses completely. I've even used it alone on a few occasions when I've been traveling, and it has removed eye makeup without a problem. That's a serious cleanser, folks!

These two cleansers have become my must-have items in the cleanser category. I still change brands for my cleansing oil depending on my mood, and I'm still on the hunt for a good lotion cleanser for the drier months, but at least I have half the equation completed.

Bottom Line: You can't go wrong with either of these. The Creme Radiance does have the typical Lancome floral scent to it, but so far it's not affected my skin at all--and I'm usually sensitive to fragrance. The Bi-Facil is widely regarded as the best eye makeup remover on the market, and I concur with that. If you want truly effective makeup removal with a minimum of effort every night, I highly recommend you give these two a try!

I love the Bifacil ... at least I used to until I started using Bioderma Crealine, which preps my skin for its wash by pre-removing all my makeup, gently, including eye makeup. I still use the Lancome for the tough stuff, though.
