Well, it seems it's been more than a couple of days since I've brought you anything new from Dior, so I thought it might be time to rectify that little issue. This time, I'm going to show you Dior's new Celebration Collection Eye Palette. It's gorgeous, sophisticated, and very wearable, and the packaging is oh-so-fabulous!
The Celebration Collection includes a face palette with everything you need to achieve a smokey eye look, including a selection of gray neutrals for the eyes, powder, rosy lip glosses, a deluxe sized Iconic mascara, and even Creme de Rose lip balm. It's lovely, but I have a bad track record with palettes that include powders and glosses in the same box. They always get mixed up and turn into a hot mess. So I passed on that because it wasn't practical for me, although the temptation was great. There is also a lip palette of rosy and shimmery beiges that's gorgeous, but I chose to pass on it as well. The remainder of the collection will consist of golds and reds (YES!!), and I plan to get plenty of it as soon as it arrives at my store.
So now that you know what I declined to purchase, let's move on to what I got! The Eye Palette is simply gorgeous. First, there's the packaging. Check out this adorable case:
Does that rock or what? I love it.
Then, there are the colors. The palette includes a beautiful neutral gold base, a stunning bronze accent, and a very shimmery off-white luminizer, in addition to the chocolate liner. Here are some shots:
And here are some swatches:

I did a pretty look with this palette, one that has some drama but's still appropriate for day due to the neutrals. I used the gold base from lashes to brows, followed by the bronze in the crease. I went heavy on the eyeliner and highlighted with the luminizing off-white.
Here's how it all turned out:
I really think I'll get a lot of work out of this one. The colors are divine, yet understated. As you can see above, they are all shimmers, although not overly so. Of course, you won't be seeing mattes from Dior any time soon! However, if you need to tone it down a bit, buff the colors in well, and the effect is less shimmery and more satiny.
Bottom Line: A great collection for just about anyone. The overall Celebration Collection is gorgeous throughout and includes something for everyone. Even if you choose to be picky (like I did), you should find at least one item you can't resist. Definitely worth checking out!
