Chanel Holiday 2011: Ombre Essentielle Soft Touch Eye Shadow #417, Beige Lame

Chanel's Holiday 2011 Collection is all about golden tones. From the shimmering Lumiere Sculptee de Chanel Highlighting Powder to the gorgeous gold-infused red of the Rouge Allure #207, Famous, the entire collection is designed to give the effect of being lit from within. Beige Lame Soft Touch Eye Shadow is no exception.

Beige Lame is NOT a typical beige. As a matter of fact, it wants to be a taupe. However, it's toned down with a golden beige, infused with a hint of golden shimmer. It was impossible to capture the true color and texture on film, but I tried:

As you can see above, the color has the tiniest hint of rose, warming it and adding depth. On the skin, it's truly lovely:

It shows as a gorgeous, shimmery golden taupe, perfect for the lid to impart a gentle glow around the eye.

Bottom Line: This is truly a must-have neutral, with its depth of color and fabulous reflective qualities. It brings light to the eye...and who doesn't appreciate that?

That is really pretty :) I am very tempted but have seen mixed reviews on this as some people say the texture is not as smooth as the normal Chanel singles?

@Replica--I have found that it blends beautifully and is very subtle and tasteful on my eyes. I haven't had any problems with it not being smooth. Maybe they had a bad lot that went out?
