Have you ever visited Bloom.com? It's a great little makeup and skin care site that offers a wide selection of brands with plenty of perks. One is the 10% back you get on each purchase via "Bloom Bucks," which function as real dollars on your next purchase. There's also free shipping on orders over $49, personalized recommendations based on information you give them regarding your skin type and coloring, and tons of free samples, including a full-size product, with each purchase. What's not to like?
I purchased a Clarisonic last month at Bloom.com when they had a 30% Bloom Bucks event and I earned over 50 (!) Bloom Bucks, so of course I returned. One of my purchases was Stila's new "Empowered in Pink" palette, a gorgeous collection of pinks and purples.
"Empowered in Pink" consists of 4 half-size shadows and 2 cheek colors. According to the back of the box, the cheek colors include a bronzer and a cheek color, but they're both pink, so I'm not sure which one is the bronzer. Regardless, they're both fresh, happy pinks that bring a rosy glow to the cheeks:
The eye colors are graduated shades of purple:
Clockwise from top left, you have Believe, a soft, muted lavender; Strength, a soft violet; Courage, a deep, vivid lavender, and Support, a mid-tone, more vivid version of Believe. The colors work quite well together and appear soft and muted on the eye rather than giving the bright purple look I sometimes go for. They're perfect for Fall, despite the Spring-y appearance.
Wear time is fantastic. In the EOTD photos below, I had worn the shadows for 9 hours already, most of that time spent running around the kitchen at work. No creasing, no fading!
Here's what I went with today--it's a very basic look, with Believe as a wash from lash to brow and Support in the crease:
As you can see, the colors blend perfectly and don't fade or crease at all. This should get me all the way to bedtime.
Bottom Line: I'm always happy with Stila's eye shadows, and these are no exception. At $24, it's a great value. I don't know how long it will be in stock, but Stila always has great deals like this, so you should definitely check it out!
