Tarte Lip Service Limited Edition LipSurgence Collection

At Ulta recently I came across a great little collection of Tarte's LipSurgence lip crayons, and I just couldn't resist. Chock-full of moisturizing, fun colors, the kit is a definite winner. 

Tarte's LipSurgence crayons are fun and flirty, and there's a color and texture for everyone. They come in three textures: Lip Tint, a sheer wash of color; Luster, a shimmery, more opaque texture; and finally matte, the brightest and most opaque of the three. 

LipSurgence colors are infused with plenty of hydrating, beneficial ingredients such as jojoba oil, peppermint oil, vitamin C and vitamin E. They are formulated without nasties such as mineral oil, parabens, phthalates, or sodium laurel sulfate--and they're cruelty free!

The Lip Service Collection is comprised primarily of fairly subtle shades, including tints perky (soft carnation tint), swank (light cherry tint), flashy (bright iridescent fuchsia luster), dazzled (pearly coral pink luster), and glitzy (antique pink luster). 

On the skin, the shades are relatively subdued, with flashy, swank, and glitzy being the most saturated by far: 

Hydration is definitely boosted with these lip crayons, and the moisture lasts and lasts. The color also has good staying power, especially given the sheerness of the shades. 

Bottom Line: Great for those of you who love glossy, understated colors and long-lasting shine.
