Organoderm Review: Natural Organic Cleanser

On my quest for more organic skin care, I recently stumbled across the website for Organoderm products. After exchanging emails regarding the various products and which ones would be best for me, Dr. Domanskis, founder of Organoderm, was kind enough to send me some products to try. I reviewed the Younger Eye Gel a week or so ago, and now I'm going to tell you about the fantastic Organic Cleanser.

Dr. Edward Domanskis founded Organoderm after 10 years of research into creating effective products that include naturally bio-active and organic ingredients that put the health of the skin first. All of the products in the line contain Certified USDA Organic ingredients and the line focuses on soothing, effective products that keep the skin healthy and in balance. It's a comprehensive line that includes a cleanser, exfoliator, moisturizing lotion, night cream, serum, lip moisturizer, eye gel and sunscreen.

In addition to a lineup of organic products, Organoderm offers eco-conscious packaging that is recyclable--and if you don't have recycling available in your area, they even have a program where you can print off a mailing label from the website and mail your empties back to the company and Organoderm will recycle for you! Now that's some dedication to reducing a carbon footprint!

The Organic Cleanser is a  very gentle foaming cleanser that effectively cleans the skin without stripping your face of moisture. I like to use it as the second step in my cleansing process, after the oil makeup removal phase. It easily whisks away the last traces of oil and makeup from my skin and rinses cleanly off, leaving no tightness or dryness. I love the light, fresh fragrance that has no hint of synthetics. I also love the pump action, which transforms the liquid cleanser into a rich, creamy foam. Two pumps gives me a luxurious lather that doesn't go flat when I rub it into my face.

The ingredients are impressive and include plenty of USDA Certified Organic ingredients such as:

  • Certified Organic Apple Juice: Nutrient fruit base.
  • Certified Organic Aloe Leaf Juice: African plant of the Lily family known for its skin soothing, healing, and anti-irritating qualities.  Lightweight in texture and refreshing on the skin.
  • Certified Organic Olive Oil: Highly emollient and rich in polyphenols.  A natural and powerful anti-oxidant against UVB sun rays.
  • Certified Organic Cucumber Extract: Soothing agent for skin.
  • Certified Organic Watercress Extract: From the leaves of a white flowered water plant with anti-oxidant ability.
  • Certified Organic Sweet Orange Oil: A  revitalizing and energizing natural essence.**

This cleanser is soothing and freshening and does not dry my skin, which is pretty much miraculous since just about everything dries my skin. Instructions state not to use around the eyes, so I can't speak to its effectiveness on eye makeup, but it removed the residual oil and makeup left after my oil cleansing with no problem...something many other cleansers haven't been able to do. This is a wonderful option for those of you who have oilier skin, as it removes dirt, debris and oil without being overly harsh.

Bottom Line: I love the cleanser now, and I'm going to love it even more as my dry skin balances out as the weather warms. Highly recommend.
